Dragonflies normally don't live long.
Usually there presence are noticeable during the
rainy season. During this same season they mate, lay eggs and die.
Depending on the Dragonfly family type, it could take weeks or months.
Dragonflies belong to the group of oldest insects around.
Cockroach and Termites are also very old insects.
Dragonflies have compound eyes, meaning that the eye consist of
deferent lenses. A Dragonfly can see all around it's body ( all angles )
without practically turning it's head.

It's colours are green, light green, black and a blue tip.
The body is straight and thin like a safety match.
For this reason it's called "Safety-match Dragonfly" ( green ) here
in Curacao. The body lenght is approximately 3.5 cm.
