Bailarin Pretu

The local name for this Mot is " Bailarin Pretu " = " Dancer (black ver.)".
Reason: She has a very unstable flying motion and looks
like she is dancing her way around in air.
This relatively tame Mot is active during the day and night.
Unlike her cousin, she has hair on the wing-edge and the overall
body-colour is much darker.

Colour is dark-brown and black.
She has a distinctive whitish mark on the wing.
Legs has some long spines.
Overall body lenght is approximately 12 mm.


Some differences between a Mot and a Butterfly :
* Antennae of a Mot does not have a ball on the end.
* The majority of Mot are night insects.
* Mostly Butterflies have nice colours.
* Mots have straight flat wings, Butterflies sleep with wing
fold together upward.
* The Butterfly Pupa is not protected ( hangs free on leave )
a Mot like protecting it's Pupa by rolling it in a leave, hidding it
in dirt or mudd, or cast it out of mudd.
* Mots reacts on light, vibration and smell.
