TAKING A NAP.
The "Sloke" is constantly in the fields searching for food.
But this routine is broken midday for a nap.
Usually this is done by flying up in a tree and find
nice spot to sleep.

It's very unlikely to find these birds taking nap in the open
like you can observe on the two pictures here.


They are very shy and always take all kind of precautions.
Other than taking naps in trees at noon they use burrows that
are completely surrounded by grass.
These burrows are not deep and has wide openings ( 20 to 30 cm ).
