Kanja

Sugarcane (Kanja) was never an important plant
for locals. The Island is not that productive speaking
of agriculture. We have little rainfall and only during
the slavery period you could find at Kenepa and Santa Krus
Kanja plantations and sugar-mills.
Nowadays it isn't plant anymore but can be bought at the
local floating market. (vessels from Venezuela)

This plant has some resemblance with the Corn plant.
Kanja has a more light and open cob with seeds
moving more freely.
The cane grows thicker too.

USE:
For urine problems:Make a thee from old leaves and drink.
Boil a piece of the green cane against high pressure.
